The project will provide you with local support and will usually arrange accommodation and meals with a host family, as well as airport transfers to your project site or accommodation, unless otherwise stated.
After your welcome, you will also receive an initial orientation to help you prepare for your work in the community, find your way around and familiarise yourself with local customs, rules and traditions. However, you will learn much more through living with your host family and working as a volunteer in your project. Core services are listed in each project profile under “Project and Accommodation Overview”.
If you have any questions or concerns, it is always a good idea to contact COACH ABROAD directly first. We will usually be able to help you with the answers. If not, we will check with the project manager and get back to you as soon as possible.
In the project profiles you will also find typical tasks for which you will be jointly responsible as a sports coach in the project. The short description of an exemplary daily routine serves as a rough guide to what you can expect during your work. Of course, this information may vary depending on the project and your role, and will usually be discussed and finalised with you individually after your arrival.
You will also find information about the project itself on the project pages. For example, about the origins of the project, the objectives or the people responsible for the project. This will help you to get to know the project in advance, so that you can start your tasks more quickly and with more focus. Your knowledge of the project will also make it easier for you to trust and join an initially unfamiliar community.
We try to make this information as detailed and informative as possible, but we are largely dependent on the information provided by the project.
