Project mentor Caroline Nange from Play Handball in Kenya
„I know from my own story how sport can be a source of empowerment and opportunity for personal growth.”

My mission is to ignite a passion for sport in underserved communities and schools, and to use its values to inspire positive social and environmental change.

I have been working in the field of sport for development since 2006.

Previously, I worked in Botswana where I helped to start a catering programme as an income-generating activity for a youth organisation in South East Africa, run by the youth themselves.

Later, in 2010, I joined the Kicking AIDS Out Network Secretariat in Cape Town, South Africa. KAO comprised 27 sports organisations in 22 countries. As an administrator, I supported the management of the network’s intranet, website, Facebook page and all logistics related to network events.

Since 2019, I have been training and supporting schools in Utawala, Githunguri and Machakos on how to use handball as both a sport and a tool for social change.
